Dawn has been in love with rock n roll since she saw Sweet, Slade, T Rex and the Glitter band on Top of The Pops in the early seventies. Her father reignited that love when he gave her 7 inch vinyls of ‘You Really Got Me’ by The Kinks and a number of early Stones singles. Meeting boys on the beach when she was ten with a ghetto blaster gave her a love of Whitesnake and AC/DC, but when glam metal came along her obsession with metal and hard rock was in full swing and never stopped. Her first gig was Kiss supported by Bon Jovi on their Runaway tour. She once won a signed Bon Jovi album by being the first person to turn up to a radio show in a bikini and wellies. Dawn’s favourite bands include Autograph, Whitesnake, Cinderella, Kix, Smashed Gladys, Vixen, Quireboyz and Forty Deuce, but really there are too many to mention. Her favourite song of all time is ‘Remember my name’ by Stevie Lange. More recent favourites include Biters and Buckcherry. She runs the UK branch of the Autograph European fan Club. She submits reviews to Fireworks Magazine. She is also a presenter, interviewer and reviewer for Dee Rocks Radio having interviewed artists such as George Lynch, Geoff Tate, Kane Roberts and Ace Finchum for radio and has her own bi weekly radio show specialising in hair metal called ‘Dawn Osborne in session’ which features an artist interview, a full album play and a selection of other 80s classics. She is a Staff member of Hair metal Mansion Radio responsible mainly for album reviews, but also reviews gigs for them including MORC which she regularly attends. She has contributed review to other on line zines including Rockposer’s Roulette. |
